The purpose of this blog is not to get a lot of attention. I have not even submitted it to any search engine, and I’m not sure anyone will ever find it.
The purpose is mostly to give myself an opportunity to write down some comments about restaurants I have seen in Nice and surroundings. Sometimes you get to a place that is really good, and sometimes you get to a place that is so annoying that it makes you furious. In both cases, I feel the need to vent my feelings somehow, and for now, the outlet is this blog.
I’m fully aware that I would get much more attention, if I were to update things on TripAdvisor, Yelp, FourSpace or places like that. However, I’m not too keen on handing my personal data to them, as I have no idea how they will use it.
Can you trust these reviews? No, not really. I can assure you that I have been to all the places and that those are my honest opinions, but I have way of proving it. I can assure you that I have not been offered any free meal or any bribes from any of the restaurants, but I have no way of proving it.
On the other hand, I have seen so many “proven” and “validated” reviews on TripAdvisor and other places that clearly are bogus that I don’t think you should trust them either.
Just read the reviews, and see what makes sense. If there is a recommendation that sounds nice, go to the place and see for yourself. If you hesitate, just turn around and go somewhere else. Or buy a sandwich in the nearest grocery store. There are some pretty good sandwiches out there. But that would be the theme for another blog.
